A West Coast Palace in the California Hills

This luxury estate with castle-like interiors is located in Hidden Hills, Calif., one of the wealthiest cities in the U.S. Some of the community's more celebrated residents have included Britney Spears and members of the Kardashian family.

Architect Brian Lerman was the creative force behind this extravagant 22,000-square-foot Southern California estate. Though it sits on the opposite coast from Gatsby's fabled West Egg, the home's size, scope and appointments could easily have drawn inspiration from the resplendent mansions described in F. Scott Fitzgerald's famous novel. There are, in fact, six rooms in this house that cost more than $1,000,000 to construct.
