Before: Mismatched Living
Brad and Donna had been drowning in their mishmash of a living room, too dark and dingy for entertaining. Donna wanted to turn it into a glamorous space, but Brad wanted comfort above all. The solution? Shabby chic.
After: Cool, Complementary Colors
For the makeover, a light blue color was chosen for the walls, making the space light and airy. To play up the red brick fireplace, it was whitewashed, making it a better fit for the new look. And mixing masculine and feminine, new balloon curtains frame the windows.
Before: Slouchy Furnishings
The homeowners couldn’t figure out what to do with the old couches.
After: New Look at Neutral
The weathered coffee table is the perfect focal point for the room and is surrounded by the sofas, which now have neutral-colored slipcovers. Accessories such as an old milk can and an old schoolhouse desk add an eclectic look and make the room warm and inviting.
