AfterColor assistant Danielle Hirsch creates texture on the walls with a rag technique. The result is typical of an Italian villa. The middle stripe is actually not the middle hue: Bromstad makes that color the most intense color because he wants to keep the eye at that level in the room.
And even though the new sectional couch fills the room, its neutral color doesn't overwhelm the space. Bromstad also likes to use bookcases behind couches that are centrally located in a room. They double as console tables and get the shelving off the walls. They're very functional storage: hidden but accessible.
