The outdoor cooking area is a sunken kitchen that allows people to swim up to the bar area. The pool has a perimeter overflow, creating a reflective edge highlighted by the fire pits behind the spa.
Before: Barren BackyardThe Theodores have boundless energy: Dawn runs a dance studio and Dean handles a triathlon-related business. With their active lifestyles, they want a backyard that matches. On the flip side, they would also like to use the space as a place to relax and regenerate.
After: Relaxing Spa RetreatLandscape designer Scott Cohen creates the perfect space for this active family. A basketball half-court give Dean a place where he can shoot some hoops. Since Dawn is a kid at heart, they added a 24-foot water slide that will drop her right into the luxurious pool. In addition, the outdoor kitchen features a gas grill, counter, ice cooler, wet bar and bread warmer.
Before: Blank Slate With a ViewFor this new property Dave and Kerry Freimann dream of an outdoor oasis that includes a pool, outdoor kitchen and, best of all, a magical, relaxing place where they can join their spectacular canyon view.
After: Magical and Tranquil RetreatLandscape designer Scott Cohen has created an outdoor paradise that accommodates several features without compromising the view. At the center of the backyard is an infinity-edge pool with telescoping fountain and a grass-and-stone checkerboard apron. On either side are mulitple seating areas, an outdoor kitchen, a ceramic firepit, an eight-foot-wide fire-and-water feature and a see-through fireplace made of hand-split fieldstone.
