After: Cozy French Modern

Giving them a fresh look was easy — all the cabinets needed was new hardware. Lighting is another quick and easy way to update a room. The new chandelier over the dining table works perfectly with the Provencal style. A set of new globe lights (not shown) hang over the sink and the center of the kitchen work area. To create more seating, the lower level of the bar was removed and stools were put in its place. Three pendant lights covered in upside-down, cobalt-blue shades illuminate the new seating area. The classic, black and white linoleum tile makes the room feel sophisticated, timeless and modern all at once. According to design pro Angelo Surmelis, you can never go wrong with a classic black and white floor — it works with any color palette.
