Caribbean-Inspired Great Room

An indistinct great room is transformed into separate family, dining and sitting rooms.

  • The great room has no separation and they need to use it for a family room and dining area. In addition, they want a formal sitting room at the entrance, which is very traditional in Puerto Rican culture.
  • The open sitting room has two conversational chairs at the entrance and leads into the dining area, which features a new table and reupholstered chairs.
  • The architecture of their home is representative of the old haciendas of Puerto Rico, so they'd like to keep it a part of the design.
  • Wooden pocket doors separate the new family room from the dining area.
