Before: Bland Pool AreaEllen and Mark love living in the exciting city of Las Vegas, but they want to have their own private retreat at home. They love to entertain, just not in their outdated backyard. They're looking for some expert help to turn the backyard from a dull space to a hot new hangout. Ellen and Mark enjoy entertaining at home for family and friends; however, they need a backyard where they can party. They have a fairly large yard and pool, but need to make the area more inviting.
After: Lush Tropical OasisThe couple decides to use the expertise of designer Todd Bailey, who creates a lush tropical look combined with a contemporary style. The spa and pool are re-plastered using a more natural color, and the retaining wall around the pool is replaced to match the stonework in the yard. New tile and a two-tiered waterfall off the spa add to the lagoon-like feel.
Before: Too Small PatioThe homeowners want to transform their boring backyard into an outdoor VIP section. While they have a great area to work with, they need some help from professionals. A rusty old gate is an eyesore and the bare walls don't match the rest of the yard.
After: Perfect for EntertainingA built-in barbeque is a welcomed addition to the yard, and the new fire pit is a great place for everyone to gather around and hang out. To cover up bare walls, Bailey uses a redwood trellis covered with a Chinese jasmine and a purple lilac vine. The synthetic lawn is easy to maintain and great for their little dog, Ollie.
