Trash to Treasure: Old Mirrors

Sasha Andreev shows Joan Steffend some interesting ways to decorate with old mirrors.

Etching compound is used to create the game-board squares. Vintage crystal and silver shakers make unique game pieces.

Elegant sconces are fashioned from antique hand mirrors.

Pieces of bulls-eye molding are epoxied onto the mirror to serve as the shelf and then a votive is adhered onto the molding. Crystals adorn the molding to add a little extra sparkle. Picture-hanging hardware is fastened onto the back to hang the sconces.

The frame of an old dresser mirror is repurposed as a face-frame for a large shadow box.

The shadow box is crafted from lumber and beadboard. All the pieces are then painted white.
