French Quarter-Inspired Kitchen

Wrought-iron, faux brick and fleur de lis accents bring the French Quarter to a plain, white kitchen.

Before: Boring White Kitchen

Alicia and Hector Zuniga recently finished redecorating their little cottage home in a New Orleans style, but they have run out of steam and ideas for their ultra-white kitchen. Can the Design on a Dime team transform the Zunigas' kitchen into the epitome of the French Quarter for less than $1,000?

The Dilemma
They'd like to add richness and texture so it matches the decor of the rest of their home. They want to tone it down, make the bay window a focal point of the room and hide the unsightly microwave. Additionally, they would like to update the industrial-looking overhead light fixtures and add an accessible wine rack.
