When builder Jason Romair starting designing this guest bathroom for a home he was building, he had several options. His main goal was to find a design and material that would provide the greatest "wow" factor.
Nearly every surface of this room is covered in Carrara marble –– the subway tile and border on the walls, the window and door casings, the countertop and the floors. "I wanted something that was consistent," explains Romair.
The room is outfitted with high-end fixtures. A thermostatic control valve in the shower allows the temperature to be precisely controlled. The enclosed shower stall provides a luxurious steam effect. In keeping with the theme, the marble tile is run all the way up the 10-foot shower walls and onto the ceiling.
The vanity's simple, straightforward look is a further example of the room's classy, contemporary look. The exposed plumbing underneath matches the sleekness of the polished-nickel fixtures, vanity legs, mirror and sconces.
The magnificent myriad of marble is continued on the floor with a traditional-style, basket-weave rug pattern.
