Far East-Inspired Bathroom

This bathroom has modern amenities and sophisticated Asian style.

  • The homeowners wanted modern amenities, with an Asian look and a comfortable feel. To help them achieve the right Zen-like mix, they called in designer Susan Templer.
  • The design started with laying down some brilliant bamboo flooring and then trimming it in slate tile. The slate is continued up the wall to give the room an earthly, natural look.
  • The slate tile on the floor is continued around the simple, yet sophisticated freestanding vanity. Sitting on top of the dark, cherry-wood vanity is a granite countertop and swirled-marble vessel sink.
  • The true standout feature in this bathroom is undoubtedly the glass-encased shower. It is equipped with two rain-heads, a remote-controlled steamer, a hand shower, quick-drying stone flooring and a teak bench that seats two.
  • Rounding out the sophisticated Far East design are Asian-inspired accents and a handy free-standing storage shelf and towel ladder.
