When Leslie Senne returned from a trip to the Tuscan countryside, she came home with more than just some fine wine and fond memories. She also had the inspiration for remodeling her master bathroom. The homeowner called in designer John Wiltgen to help her create this elegant master bathroom that brings a touch of the Italian countryside to urban Chicago.
The design started by laying down some golden Jerusalem stone tile. Radiant heat was run underneath the flooring to keep it feeling as warm as it looks.
The luxurious his-and-her vanities each measure a whopping six feet in length.
The mirrors and doors are amply trimmed in handpainted Italian tiles. The custom-made cabinetry is detailed in complementary tones of gold, which also match the opulent chandelier.
To give the room the feeling of a luxurious Italian villa, gold-plated knobs are used on the vanities. The faucets are also gold-plated with elegant crystal handles.
The large whirlpool is centered in a very prominent position in the bathroom. Relaxing in the tub next to the cozy fire creates the perfect escape for the homeowner.
