See how a designer transformed a longtime bachelor's bathroom into a space suitable for a new spouse.
Accomplished designer Jean Alan received a call from an old client. He needed a difficult job done — transforming a longtime bachelor's bathroom into a space suitable for a new spouse.
The first rule of a stylish design is to always keep it simple. This room's uncluttered and sophisticated look came about by keeping things clean, classy and uncomplicated.
The walls are covered in textured limestone tiles. Its soft, neutral color has a soothing effect on the space.
The floor tile is positioned horizontally across the floor to make the room seem larger. The limestone flooring is honed rather than chiseled, giving it the cool feel of ceramics.
To keep the contemporary space open and airy, a clear glass wall has been placed between the shower and toilet. Also separating the two is a beautiful marble bench. One side of it serves as a place to sit while showering, and the other side offers storage space for toiletries.
The oversize whirlpool tub and floating mahogany vanity are surround by dark marble. The tub connects seamlessly into the custom-made cabinetry, which is topped off with a large beveled-tile mirror.
