Some may say it's cramped at only 950 square feet, but homeowners Carrie and Corey Murphy love their third-floor condo that is located in an old brownstone in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood. What this home lacks in size, it more than makes up for in style, especially in the master bathroom. With the help of designer Jay Slifer, the homeowners were able to create a functional blend of classic bungalow craftsmanship and modern hipster chic.
The bathroom's spectacular good looks begin even before you step inside. The main door is a frosted-glass French door that allows in plenty of natural light while still providing ample privacy.
The centerpiece of the bathroom is the stunning pedestal sink. With its slim, straightforward fixtures, it's the perfect combination of classic and modern. The recessed cabinet and display shelves provide the homeowners plenty of space to stash their stuff.
One of the key design elements is the elegant subway tile that surrounds the shower and tub. The custom-made shower is equipped with a designer rainfall showerhead to add even more luxury.
The room's detailed millwork and exemplary beadboard wainscoting add to the crisp, New England cottage feel. The black slate floors play perfectly off the white walls and fixtures.
