Before: Crumbling BackyardSix years ago, Chuck and Angela Nacos found their dream home in Fort Collins, Colo., while shopping at a garage sale. Not only did they walk away with two chairs, but also with a beautiful lakeside home. Their new home suits their style and their love for water, but the yard itself hasn't been touched since the house was originally built. The pair is ready to see how the Landscapers' Challenge designers can transform the lifeless backyard into a lakeside retreat.
Chuck and Angela Nacos fell in love with their lakeside home the minute they spotted it during a garage sale. Unfortunately, the backyard looks like it has suffered from years of neglect. Overgrown plantings and crumbling stone pathways have seen better days.
After: Sleek PoolsideAfter looking over the three design plans, the couple decides to use the expertise of Ryan Manning and Ransom Beegles. Their design gives the yard a modern, streamlined look that ties in with the architecture of their house. Stone steps are a beautiful transition down to the lower level of the yard. It's a fantasy complete with a pool, a view and plenty of room for peaceful relaxation.
Before: Overgrown PlantsThe patio outside their home features a crumbling wall with overgrown junipers that could use some reworking. Flower beds are overrun with grasses and weeds.
After: Inviting PatioThe patio off the kitchen is paved in concrete and stained a warm color to match the stepping stones that lead to two new planter beds.
