Elegant Seaside Living Room

The Double Take team re-creates a $35,000 elegant seaside living room for less than $3,000.

  • Designed by Roger Stoker, this serene room was inspired by the ocean and colors in nature. The blue on the walls makes for a tranquil setting, while the white adds a touch of elegance and sparkle.
  • The experts agree. The Double Take team did a fantastic job replicating the peaceful coastal-inspired lounge.
  • Against the wall in the inspiration room is a custom-made, midcentury reproduction buffet table with ivory lacquer finish and antiqued mirror backing. The piece is valued at $5,100. The makeover rendition was made for only $159.
  • Halili finds a pair of armless chairs, in oyster-colored passion suede with dark finished legs for only $900.
  • In the inspiration room are three down-filled, hand-embroidered throw pillows valued at $990. Iron-on decals are used to create the Double Take pillows.
  • Hanging in the designer room is a forged-metal chandelier with tumbled glass accents and white cotton shades. The fixture is worth almost $4,000. The Double Take team was able to re-create the piece for only $215.
  • This is a fun and easy project to do with kids, but be sure to use nontoxic ink.
  • Oversize ceramic sky blue lamps with white cotton shades are on each side of the couch in the inspiration room. They are valued at $980. The makeover lamps start out as $15 vases from a home store.
