Garden-Inspired Master Bedroom

An old iron gate, rusty barrel hoops and brown paper bags are remixed with a lot of creativity to transform a boring master bedroom.

Before: Beige and Messy

Host Karen McAloon and the Design Remix team help homeowners Remi and Brian Adams turn their two-tone, mismatched, messy bedroom into a clean, modern room that reflects their personalities. Basing her idea on an old iron gate she finds in the yard, McAloon creates a garden-inspired master bedroom where the couple can relax.

The bedroom furniture was part of Brian's dowry; he had picked out the dresser because he thought the metal handles tied in with the metal bed frame. To Remi, the bars on the bed look like a jail. And the white paper window shades Brian bought for $10 are held up by a hair clip.
