Before: Outdated SpaceSix years ago, Brian and Mary Longe purchased a unique, vintage apartment in a historic building of downtown Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood. The 3,000-square-foot apartment has its original floor plan, which features a butler's pantry and two smaller maid's rooms off the kitchen. While they love the charm of the apartment, they've always felt the kitchen could use some updating, so they're turning to the experts in the hope that one of them can help remodel the space.
While the Longes like living in Chicago, they also love the intimacy of their five-story building. One of the reasons they bought the home is the butler's pantry that features cabinetry and nickel-plated sinks, original to the 1915 construction. To update the space, the hardware needs to be replaced, and Brian would like to add a refrigerator and ice dispenser to the drink area.
