Surf-Inspired Bathroom/Laundry

This surf-inspired room combines a bath with the laundry facilities, making it a very convenient space.

  • Connected to a laundry closet, this bathroom is used mainly by a teenager, though it doesn’t reflect his youthful character or much of anything else. The challenge is to put bright colors, textures, cabinets and accessories to use in a way that ties the two spaces together.
  • With the teenager’s fondness for Hawaii as inspiration, a surfing theme with walls that look like weathered wood brings a touch of the islands into this combination room. The laundry setup is behind the bi-fold doors, so the equipment can be hidden when not in use, and when open, the doors don’t take up much space.
  • The laundry closet needs a better storage system, some nice lighting and a bit of decorating so that it matches the new style of the bath..
  • A simple but fun stamped border, new baskets and cabinets liven up the area and provide great storage.
