Designer Mark Pellegrino uses contemporary elements including elephant art to bring a big bland house into the 21st century.
Mark and Marina Anderson’s home reminds them of a big red barn. Although Mark was raised on a farm, the couple wants to make sure the home reflects their suburban and creative lifestyle. The challenge is to take this large corner home and create something inviting and personal. The boxy nature of the house could easily make it look like a 1970s apartment building with the wrong colors.
Designer Mark Pellegrino uses contemporary elements to bring the "big box" into the 21st century. Elements include plants embedded in polyurethane panels, acrylic blocks, vinyl print-pixilated artwork and cutting-edge sculptures. Other details inspired by Marina’s work with elephant rescue organization include elephant artwork, jungle grasses and artisan burl wood furniture
