See how the desire for natural light influenced this kitchen remodel.
Bob and Kaaron Ross and their son, Cameron, love to spend time together and for them there's no better place to do that than in their brand new kitchen overflowing with natural light.
The catalyst for their kitchen remodel was a Thanksgiving dinner where their too-small kitchen was overloaded with cooks and guests. Working with designer Georgie Skover, they came up with an open floor plan featuring an abundance of windows instead of upper cabinets.
Double ovens are situated side-by-side since natural light was a priority and wall space was at a premium.
A wall was removed in order to tie the kitchen in with the family room. A secondary three-person seating area projects off the end of the counter creating a nice transition between the two rooms.
Creative storage is a must if you decide to go without upper cabinets. Here, the microwave is tucked into a lower cabinet with wine storage taking up a slice of countertop real estate.
