Fun and FunkyHomeowners Linda and Corey Longacre used some very creative ideas and materials to create a space that’s all about family and fun. Linda says, "We wanted something that was kind of fun and a little funky actually. We wanted it contemporary; we knew that was important. We really like the linear look of things so we wanted very clean lines and stuff that was easy to maintain."
Concrete SurfacesThey surrounded stainless-steel appliances with maple cabinets outfitted with lift-up doors. Concrete was the material of choice for every counter surface, including the dining table. Kitchen designer Carrie Delp worked with the Longacres to design a kitchen where no space was left unused. Three cabinets under the island house the children's games and another cabinet at the end makes room for baking sheets.
