TIPical Mary Ellen offers tips for fixing little problems around the house.
If ceilings are hard to paint, purchase one of the new ceiling paints that goes on blue but dries white (figure A). That way, you can see where you painted.
If you step on a wad of gum, spray lubricant on it (figure B) and then scrape it off with a plastic scraper.
Use spray lubricant to shine your boots or dress shoes (figure C).
Spray lubricant can also be used for phone buttons that get stuck when pressed (figure D) or for cleaning and removing dirt from the phone or even TV remotes.
If the soleplate on your iron is dull (figure E), use a damp sponge to rub with a non-abrasive cleanser. Use pipe cleaners to clean inside the holes. To clean the inside of the iron, use vinegar and water.
