Timely Apartment

A 10-foot clock face makes an interesting living room window for this Brooklyn Heights, N.Y., resident.

  • New York architect Michael R. Davis literally lives inside of a clock in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. He turned a 1,200-square-foot loft in a former storage building into an apartment. The most striking feature is a 10-foot diameter glass and iron clock face that now serves as a living room window.
  • It originally advertised The Eagle Warehouse. More than 100 years later, it serves as Davis' living room showpiece. This unusual window provides unparalleled views of the city, including views across the East River into Lower Manhattan. Davis has furnished the home with 19th century treasures.
