Before: Boring StudyHost Brooke Channon and the design team work together to transform a bland study into an eclectic retreat that will be used to plan globe-trotting adventures.
Inspiration RoomAnchored by a map covered reading nook, the room infuses refined antiques and worldly accessories to create this designer look.
Makeover RoomThe transformation began by painting deep metallic toned stripes on the wall to add elegance to the room. The design team covered the wall of the newly constructed nook with vibrant map pages. Next, the design team hung khaki drapery panels in the nook.
Cozy PillowsThe design team completed the nook by covering the cushion and dressing it with handmade pillows.
Rider's DeskAn orange toned jute rug was the perfect replacement for the Moquette carpet found in the inspiration room. The design team recreated the rider’s desk from the inspiration using a two drawer wooden desk. The desk was dressed with a red cylinder pencil holder, a metal box and a lamp, which was given a faux crackle finish by the design team.
Miami-Style ChairThree masks and a hand painting were placed on the wall above the desk, for a look similar to the inspiration room. For the sitting area, the design team chose a blue micro suede Miami style chair and a three legged wrought iron vintage table.
Elegant ChandelierA three light crystal chandelier and boat magazine holder was added to complete this room.
