Before: College StyleHost Brooke Channon and the design team work together to re-create the look of a college style bedroom and transform it into a contemporary retreat designed by Andrea Hawkins.
Inspiration RoomHawkins used both Asian and European influences to create the designer look found in this inspiration room.
After: European InfluenceWith a bit of hard work the design team transformed a collegiate bedroom into a romantic suite for a fraction of the original cost.
Tangerine WallsThe transformation began with adding a soft orange tone to the walls (Benjamin Moore: Soft Pumpkin.) Setaria Roman blinds served as the window treatment for the makeover room. The design team used pieces from a Queen Anne canopy bed to replicate the Ironware Diego bed found in the inspiration room.
Velvet BenchA pumpkin orange velvet upholstered bench was placed at the foot of the bed to add a dramatic effect.
Side TablesThe design team repainted two side tables to re-create the look of the black lacquer inspiration tables. The side tables were dressed with ceramic pots refinished by the homeowners.
Pendulum LampsTwo pendulum style lamps were hung to create lighting with an Asian influence. A large abstract print was the perfect stand in for the oil painting found in the inspiration room. The design team faux finished a terra cotta pot to re-create the look of the antique Chinese stool from the inspiration room.
