Patios are no longer just for relaxing; they're also for decorating. According to Linda Moran, creative and carefree styles are the latest craze in outdoor furniture.

  • The newest thing in wicker is its all-weather appeal. Outdoor wicker is made from a combination of real wicker and a resin material so that it can be out in the rain.

  • These 100 percent acrylic fabrics won't rot or fade. They're filled with polyester that drains and dries very quickly so they can be outside without worry.

  • An old favorite is wrought iron and the new trend is to add colorful cushions. Gone are the days of chipping and painting it every year with good undercoating and powder-coated finishes.

  • Teak has a timeless look and was originally used on boats. It's absolutely free of care if you let it weather to its natural silver gray and will last forever, so be sure to like the style you choose.

  • Strong, rustproof and lightweight, cast and casual aluminum furniture is today's most popular choice. The difference between the two is that casual aluminum (shown) is hollow.

  • This lamp looks like it belongs indoors, but it's actually for year-round outdoor use and has an all-weather light bulb. The shade is also waterproof and washable.
