Inspiration Room

Host Brooke Channon and designer Robert Noble work together to re-create the look of Robert's design in the Inspiration Room, which features the classic style of ancient Greece and Rome. Robert used a neutral color palette accented by soft gold tones and vibrant accessories to create this designer look.

Transforming the Makeover Room

Guest designer Robert Noble helped direct the transformation of an unsophisticated space with outdated bedding into a classic, formal bedroom with the following steps:

  • Replaced the broken blinds with matchstick shades to complement the room's existing warm tone.

  • Hung a crystal chandelier to anchor the room and add instant elegance.

  • Used a cherry wood platform bed with simple lines, which give the bed a neoclassic style.

  • The bed was dressed with a soft gold damask comforter set with matching shams and coordinating dust ruffle.

  • Used a two-tiered oak game table to serve as the left side table. Hung a French hand-colored engraving over the table and dressed the table with a Chinese cloisonné style lamp (famille rose pattern), a dark wood box, antique books and a brass pot orchid.

  • Used a modest table accented with gold painted gingerbread pieces for the right side table. An antique mirror was hung above the table and the table was dressed with a Chinese cloisonné style lamp (famille rose pattern), a Chinese man statue and a turquoise Indonesian vase.

  • Placed an open armed upholstered chair with intricate carvings near the right side table to finish off the area.

  • Hung a rectangular gold mirror antiqued with glaze to give it an aged look. The mirror was accented by a pair of wall corbels with leaves and berries.

  • Jazzed up the foot of the bed with a rug bearing colors similar to the rug in the Inspiration Room.
