Ohio Schoolhouse

A one-time schoolhouse becomes the home of two educators.

Tom and Kim Reed are both educators, so it seems only natural that they live in an old schoolhouse. The 100-year-old building was covered in vines and riddled with birds’ nests when the Reeds bought it in 1991.

The previous owner had inherited the schoolhouse from his great-grandfather. The Reeds painstakingly refinished the original hardwood floor and wainscoting. Finally, they accentuated their home's history with schoolhouse antiques, including a collection of old-fashioned lunchboxes.
