Before: Tired Kitchen Design
Though the layout of the kitchen worked, the space needed to be modernized. The homeowners wanted to bring in colors of the ocean and update the cabinetry, countertops and fixtures.
After: Modern and Stylish
Designer Shirry Dolgin embraced the existing layout, but completely transformed the look of the kitchen. Dark oak cabinets in a sleek, contemporary style are combined with the clean lines of the Caesarstone countertops, giving the tired kitchen a new modern feel.
Before: Outdated Banquette
A built-in banquette is connected to the peninsula, obstructing the open feeling the homeowners' want the kitchen to have.
After: Sophisticated Dining
The built-in banquette is removed, and in its place Dolgin installs extra cabinets for more storage. Now, a freestanding table with a chunky, contemporary vibe that matches the kitchen's style sits under a wavy glass chandelier.
The island features a waterfall quartz countertop and bar area with stools. Designed for a family and entertaining, the kitchen is open to the dining and living area, making it easy for the cook to be part of the conversation.
An ocean glass backsplash makes a beautiful design statement. Dolgin continues the backsplash above the frosted glass cabinets to maximize its impact.
Contemporary Paneled Door
Frosted glass panels are used on the door leading to the pantry to continue the look from the glass cabinet doors in the kitchen.
