Luxurious Japanese-Style Master Bath

Take a look at a space that is more like an art museum than a bathroom.

  • This sprawling home is steeped in cool, contemporary fashions, but it’s the master bathroom inspired by clean lines, serene sensibilities and relaxing Japanese style that makes this spa-like retreat one of a kind. With its amazing artwork, stunning stainless steel and iridescent glass, this room is more like an art museum than a bathroom. With its matching vessel sinks and iridescent glass-tile countertop, the vanities are works of art in themselves.
  • Complementing the iridescent tile is the frosted sliding-glass doors that separate the toilet from the vanity area. And one of the many focal points in the room is the gorgeous stainless-steel tub trimmed in iridescent tile. Tucked in a corner are a wide-open shower and a curvy custom-made bench.
  • The prize of this “art museum’s” collection is the dazzling Buddha sculpture of solid jade.
  • Lighting was a real challenge in this space because of the lack of natural light. The problem was solved by installing hidden light sources along the columns and near the sculpture and installing a necklace of wall sconces above the vanity. The Venetian ceiling treatment and reflective tiles help generate light as well.
