Classic Design ElementsAre you trying to figure out how to give your contemporary new home a little character of yesteryear without making it seem too old fashioned? Designer Amy Scoggins did just that in this master bath, incorporating classic design elements without sacrificing any modern amenities and conveniences.
Timeless DesignDon't let the Old World look fool you! This spa bathtub and steam shower comes equipped with all the latest bells and whistles. The classic style comes through with the dark bronze faucets, traditional artwork and soft color palette. Travertine tile was used all around the tub and shower area. The natural stone with its decorative detail is a great blend of sleek contemporary design and an Old World style.
Custom Vanity and MirrorsCustom walnut cabinetry with black highlights and aged hardware give the space rich character. Creating vanities to look like period furniture is one of the latest trends in bathroom design. By using granite countertops, Scoggins continues the elegant early 1900s look. The individual mirrors hanging over the vanity are reminiscent of the 1920s. Another hot trend in bathroom design today is to use multiple framed wall mirrors instead of one large one.
Old World Light FixturesThe matching overhead light fixture and wall sconces also bring in a touch of Old World style. The bronze patina combined with the soft glow of the golden glass chandeliers really give the room a warm, sophisticated feel.
