Every effort has been made to blend the garage seamlessly into its environment. The roof and tall windows match the main house in every detail. Rows of cedar pines camouflage the driveway as well as the garden path that leads from the garage to the kitchen. Foundation beds that hold potato-vine standards and lavender add a homey feel. \"The garage is detached as a nod to the days when it would have been a carriage house to store buggies, or even horses,\" explains house planner Jack Thomasson.
Outdoor wall lights in an antique metal finish complement the hanging pendants that extend the length of the front porch.
An Attractive Alternative
The driveway was laid with interlocking pavers, an elegant and attractive alternative to cement, pebble or asphalt.
A planter-strip driveway is filled with ornamental strawberries, a landscape feature popular in the neighborhood.
