Crochet Flowers, Pin and Necklace

Materials:

size F crochet hook
Grace cotton yarn: pink, purple, yellow, green
large-eye yarn needle
pin back
sewing thread
sewing needle
Steps:

1. Make flower with desired color of cotton yarn following either of the flower patterns below.

2. Make flower center with green yarn, leaving a long tail.

3. Attach the flower center to the middle of the flower with the large-eye yarn needle and the long ends.

4. Make one large and one small leaf and attach to the back of the flower.

5. Sew on pin back.

Gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows = 4 inches in sc using Grace

Single Row of Petals

ch 5, join with al st to first ch to form ring

Rnd 1: ch 2(counts as 1 sc), work 15 sc into ring, join with sl st to beg ch (figure A)

Rnd 2: [ch 4, skip 2 sc, sl st in next sc] 5 times, end last rep st st in base of beg ch (figure B)

Rnd 3: In each ch 4 sp around work (1 sc, 4 dc, 1 tr, 4dc, 1 sc), join with sl st to first sc (figure C)

Double Row of Petals

ch 5, join with a sl st to first ch to form ring

Rnd 1: ch 2(counts as 1 sc), work 15 sc into ring, join with sl st to beg ch.

Rnd 2: [ch 4, skip 2 sc, sl st in next sc] 5 times, end last rep st st in base of beg ch

Rnd 3: In each ch 4 sp around work (1 sc, 4 dc, 1 tr, 4dc, 1 sc), join with sl st to first sc (figure D)

Rnd 4: [ch 5, sl st between next 2 sc (between petals)] 5 times, end sl st to base of beg ch (figure E)

Rnd 5: in each ch 5 space, ch 1, work (1 sc, 5 dc, 3 tr, 5dc, 1 sc) around, end sl st to beg ch (figure F)

End yarn and leave a long tail of at least 6 inches (figure G)

Flower Center

ch 3, *yo, insert hook into 1st ch, and pull through 2 loops* repeat between * 4 more times, yo pull through all 6 loops on hook

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail of at least 6 inches, and pull through last loop.

ch 12 and sc in second ch from hook and in the next 2 ch, hdc in each of the next 2 ch, dc in the next 4 ch, hdc in the next ch, sc in the next ch, 3 sc in last ch (figure H)

Working down the other side into each ch work 1 sc in the 1st ch, 1 hdc in the next ch, dc in the next 4 ch, hdc in the next 2 ch, then sc in the last 3 ch

End yarn and leave a long tail of about 6 inches (figure I)

Small Leaf

ch 9 and sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in the next ch, hdc in each of the next 2 ch, dc in the next 2 ch, hdc in the next ch, 3 sc in the last ch

Working down the other side into each ch, work 1 hdc in the 1st ch, dc in the next 2 ch, hdc in the next 2 ch, then sc in the last 2 ch

End yarn and leave a long tail of about 6 inches.

Crochet Necklace

Materials:

size F crochet hook
Grace cotton yarn:, burgundy
20 amber-colored beads
small-eye yarn needle

Gauge: 20 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches in sc

Alternative design
Steps:

1. With the yarn needle, strand the 20 beads on the yarn.

2. Ch 50, pull up a bead (figure A), * ch 3, pull up bead * (figure B), repeat 9 times, ch 51, turn

3. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in the next 47 (48 sc), *work dc in the next 2 ch, slip bead, ch 1, dc in the next 2 ch (between beads of previous row) (figure C) * repeat 9 times, sc to end
