They say if you are going to collect, you've got to collect something that speaks to you. For a lot of people this means stirring up old memories. Collector Millie Ellerson dug deep into her Philadelphia childhood to create a very special collection. She has devoted an entire room in her house to 1940s kitchen memorabilia. Here are some quick tips on how to start your own old-time memorabilia. It can be great fun and affordable. Just look for easy-to-find items such as old milk bottles, tins, spice containers, etc., at thrift shops, garage sales and flea markets. Items such as these typically range in price from $2 to $10. Looking for bigger collectibles--how about old appliances? Look for appliances that are in good cosmetic condition and in working order.
