Figure C
Ardith Beveridge shares an idea for decorating with bamboo (figure A).

Steps:

  1. Line the bottom of a glass vase with decorative rock, then fill with water (figure B).

  2. Place the bamboo shoots into the water and hold in place with the rock. The root system will grow into place around the rock, making this a very sturdy plant. You can also plant these in soil like a regular plant (figure C).

Tips

  • Be very careful when unwrapping the root system so as to not kill it.

  • Cut off all of the yellow (dead) parts of the bamboo. A new piece will grow in its place.
