The homeowners do not have a fireplace, so a substitute had to be found to match the elegant fireplace screen in the Inspiration Room. A bar/buffet table purchased at a secondhand shop is painted and decoupaged to give it an Asian-inspired look. First, a chrysanthemum image found online was enlarged at a photocopy store. Then the table was primed in ocher yellow to help the top layer of gold paint look fuller. When the paint dried the flower cut-out was glued on and finished with a layer of sealant.
