Only in Goliad, Texas, does Santa Claus arrive on a reinsteer (figure A). This small Texas town celebrates its Christmas big, with a reenactment of the pony express (figure B) and the first Christmas, known as Las Posadas. A lighted parade makes its way around the town square, while a woman named Mrs. Garcia cooks up her famous tamales.
