This Tuna, Peas and Jell-O dish is as retro as it gets!
Culinary expert Colleen Miner offers ideas for putting a new twist an old-fashioned meal.

Tuna, Peas and Jell-O

Ingredients:

fresh tuna steak
1 cup full-fat cream
1 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. lemon juice
fresh dill to taste
frozen peas
lime zest
hollowed-out tomato halves
Jello-O
coffee
whipped cream

Preparation:

Sear tuna on both sides until medium rare. Heat cream, cornstarch and lemon juice in a saucepan. Once hot, add a little fresh dill.

Warm frozen peas, then add a little zing to them with some lime zest. Scoop the peas into hollowed-out tomato halves.

Follow the directions on the box of and dissolve in cold water. Instead of using hot water for the final step, use hot coffee. Once gelled, add whipped cream to taste, and you have a Jell-O style cafe au lait.
