  • Have you been searching for a new, quick-and-easy way to prepare carrots? Try cooking them in ginger ale. Place one pound sliced carrots and 1/2 cup ginger ale in a saucepan, then cook on a medium-low heat until the carrots are tender. Top with butter.

  • Steam one pound green beans until they are tender. Melt together one tablespoon honey, one tablespoon Dijon mustard and one tablespoon butter. Pour over the beans and enjoy.

  • Crumble blue cheese over sliced tomatoes, then drizzle with Italian dressing. This is best when the tomatoes come straight from the garden. Add a little red onion to it if desired.

  • Red potatoes are a great side dish and are very easy to make. Simply cut them in half, throw in two tablespoons butter, and place them in the microwave for four minutes.

  • Another great way to cook carrots is to steam them with a little brown sugar. It really brings out the flavor of the carrots.

  • Saute a cucumber or two with rice vinegar. Sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on top for added flavor.
