Culinary expert Phillip Yi shows how to prepare an easy Japanese rice pudding (see photo).

It is easy to make when you have extra rice after dinner. The hot rice cooks the egg yolk enough to eliminate any concerns about it being raw. If the rice has cooled, heat with a little hot water. For each serving, mix together the following ingredients:

3/4 cup hot short-grain rice
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. sugar
nuts or fruit (as garnish)
