Melon Measurements

These measurements are approximate and depend in part on how close to the rind you cut the fruit:

Cantaloupe, honeydew: 1 medium melon (about 4 lb. with rind) yields about 4 cups of cubes

• 1 lb. of cubes is about 2 1/4 cups
  
• About 1 1/2 cups of cubes produce 1 cup unstrained puree
  
• About 2 1/2 cups of cubes produce 1 cup strained liquid

Watermelon:

• 1/4 small watermelon (about 4 1/2 lb. with rind) yields about 6 1/2 cups of cubes
  
• 1 lb. of cubes is about 2 1/2 cups
  
• About 1 1/2 cups of cubes produce 1 cup unstrained puree
  
• Shy 2 cups of cubes produce 1 cup strained liquid
