Semisweet chocolate chips, bar chocolate and nuts are some ingredients that work well in truffles.
Preparing truffles may seem intimidating, but they are actually quite easy, according to culinary expert Colleen Miner. She is determined to prove it with this simple recipe.

Basic Truffle

Ingredients:

12 oz. dark chocolate
1 cup heavy cream
4 Tbs. unsalted butter

Preparation:

Microwave the chocolate, cream and butter for one minute. Stir until smooth. If the chocolate isn't melted, microwave for an additional 30 seconds. Add any flavorings when the chocolate is smooth. Put in a container that has a lid and refrigerate for two to four hours, or up to two weeks.

After the chocolate has chilled, use a small cookie scoop to make evenly sized truffles.
