Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

My family enjoys "cooking" chocolate oatmeal cookies for that "gotta have homemade chocolate like you can get no other place but home" family treat and for special occasions. The cookies remind me of when my own mother would make chocolate fudge in a similar fashion.

Ingredients:

4 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
2 sticks margarine (Parkay works best.)
1 cup milk
1/2 to 1 cup peanut butter, to taste
2 tsp. vanilla
4 cups quick-cooking oats

Combine sugar, cocoa, margarine and milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly--about 5-1/2 to six minutes. Mix in peanut butter and vanilla. Add oats and mix well. Working quickly, drop (spoon) on wax paper. Let cool. Enjoy!
