French-Toast Casserole

Ingredients:

4 eggs
1 pint cream
pinch of cinnamon
1/2 cup maple syrup
crusty bread, sliced
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 cup raisins

Preparation:

Whisk together eggs, cream, cinnamon and maple syrup. In a large, circular baking dish, layer the bottom with bread slices and pour a portion of the mixture over the bread (don't use all of it). Sprinkle the bread with pecans and raisins, then add another layer of bread. Pour more mixture over this layer, then repeat the process.

This casserole requires a water bath, so place the circular dish in a larger baking dish containing water, so that the water rises to the midway point of the dish containing the bread mixture. Bake uncovered in a 300-degree oven for 30 minutes.
