Blackened Rib-eye

Ragin' Cajun Blackened Rib-eye

* Note: This dish is best cooked outdoors, as it creates quite a bit of smoke.

Ingredients:

1 Tbs. garlic powder
1 Tbs. red pepper flakes
1 Tbs. chili powder
1 Tbs. cayenne pepper
1 Tbs. paprika
salt to taste
white pepper to taste
black pepper to taste
1 swordfish steak
1 rib-eye steak (or any other favorite cut)

Preparation:

In a bowl, combine garlic powder, red pepper flakes, chili powder, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt and peppers. Rub liberally on both sides of each steak. Sear in an ungreased skillet at 500 degrees for three minutes per side or until blackened. Watch this dish carefully, as it can burn quickly.

Store excess marinade in a sealed container. It will stay fresh for up to one year.
