Living Room After
Previous: Living Room Before
This room used to be dull and totally out of proportion. Now, everything is the right size and the room is full of pizzazz and style. The large feature wall is paneled to emphasis the room's height. A faux flat-panel TV adds drama that is sure to impress buyers. New blades on the ceiling fan bring it into scale and they cost just $15 to replace.

The snakeskin guest room was far from cozy, but, now it is spruced up and ready for company (not shown). Soft, subtle wall color paired with warm bedding and window treatments make the room friendly and inviting. To add a little texture and interest, the homeowner’s headboard is painted then given a crackle finish.

Tip: Real estate expert Shirley Mattam-Male has three great ideas for house-warming gifts –– an American flag, stationary with the homeowner’s new address on it or a home-repair book.
