Before: Boring Baby Room
Soon-to-be 3-year-old Ella Boboshko is moving out of her crib (pictured, right) and into a big-girl bed. Her mom and dad, Hillary and Nick, along with her big brother, also named Nick, want to give Ella a new bedroom to go with her new bed. The parents would like the room to reflect the family’s Russian heritage. Ellla would like the color purple in her room and a nest or hideaway where she can curl up with her stuffed animals.

After: Princess Ready
Next: Onion Domes
This Russian princess has graduated from baby nursery to big-girl palace. Designer Rachel James used the Moscow skyline as inspiration in creating a Russian fairytale bedroom. The focal point of the room is the bed with its fantastic onion-dome-shaped headboard. By reusing furniture and handcrafting many items, James managed to complete the makeover for just $800.
