Musicians Amy Daves and Seth Simon are ready to sell their house (pictured right) and move to a loft downtown that's band friendly. But they need help to do it. The Designed to Sell team agrees to put their expertise and $2,000 budget to work to get their house in tune in record time.Real estate expert Donna Freeman is first to provide her assessment. She is impressed with the beautiful yard and well-landscaped garden, noting how important those things are in getting buyers to take notice. Once inside, she is disappointed with the cluttered appearance of the rooms. Oversize furniture pieces are too blame, she says.
Designer Lisa LaPorta weighs in next. She agrees with Freeman and outlines a three-step plan for implementing the changes. The focus areas will be the living room, dining room and master bedroom.
Step 1: Get in tune. Repair problems so that you'll be in sync with your asking price.
Step 2: Rock it out. Clear overstuffed rooms that cramp the homes style.
Step 3: Drum up the drama. Amplify focal points to strike a chord with buyers
Carpenters Steve Hanneman and Brooks Utley are on hand to help get things started.
