Neighborhood Knowledge: San Diego's Country Club Drive

Photo
Country Club Drive encompasses the best of La Jolla. This winding road starts near La Jolla's downtown village, brimming with shops and great seafood restaurants, and ends high on the side of Mount Soledad, offering perfect vistas of La Jolla Cove and San Diego Bay.

We asked residents to tell us the best places to eat and sites to see near their neighborhood. Here's what they had to say:

For California coastal cuisine with Mediterranean influences, try Azul La Jolla. If Italian is more to your liking, there's Sante Ristorante, and for French cuisine served in a bistro-style restaurant, check out Tapenade.

Shopping sites include Nicole Miller, Suzans Jewelry and The White Rabbit bookstore.

Must-see destinations for tourists include the Birch Aquarium and Mount Soledad, which offers a tremendous 360-degree view of the La Jolla, San Diego area.
